I’m not easily shocked by such topics, so this was a deep and heavy realization that knocked the wind out of me. That company’s website includes photos and videos of the dolls, which made me nauseous and conjured mental images of a sad, terrible future. How could anyone think this was a good idea?
I found it heartbreaking to think these dolls might replace real children and that someone could find these dolls more desirable than a real, breathing human being. To me, children should always be respected and protected. There are so many other options out there, like visiting a therapist or a sex worker, so why would anyone resort to using a child sized plastic doll?
What’s more, those who buy these dolls are often deemed as lordless and punishable. The media is not usually sympathetic to such people. The thing that confuses me the most is why people would feel compelled to buy such dolls in the first place. As a parent, I can think of nothing worse than someone seeking out a robotic child for sexual gratification. The idea of someone knowingly doing this is so unsettling to me. Why not just seek therapy instead of using a child sex doll?
The bottom line is, the thought of a child sex doll is deeply troubling. Creating something that looks like a child in order to fulfill one’s sexual desires is absolutely wrong. No child should ever be placed in such a situation. It’s a terrible and wrong concept that needs to be shut down.
